Answers to common questions about wearing, cleaning, storing, and monitoring a custom night guard.

Night Guard FAQs
Helpful note: This educational guide does not replace instructions from your dentist, orthodontist, or other treating dental professional. Always follow appliance-specific directions provided with your order.

When should I wear my night guard?

Wear your night guard according to the instructions given by your dental provider. Many guards are intended for nighttime use, but your individual recommendation may differ.

Is an adjustment period normal?

A new appliance can feel noticeable at first. Mild awareness is common, but persistent pain, sore spots, significant bite changes, or an inability to seat the guard normally should be reviewed by your provider.

How should I clean it?

Rinse after use, brush gently with a soft brush and mild non-abrasive soap, and let it dry before storage. Avoid high heat and harsh chemicals unless your appliance instructions specifically permit them.

How long will a night guard last?

Service life varies with material, grinding force, frequency of use, cleaning habits, and fit. Inspect the guard regularly for thinning, cracks, rough edges, or distortion.

When should I replace it?

Contact your provider if the guard is damaged, no longer fits properly, feels unstable, or has worn through in an area. A new impression or scan may be recommended if your teeth or bite have changed.
