Smile Maintenance Guide

Your appliance works best as part of a consistent oral-health routine that includes good hygiene, proper appliance care, and regular professional dental care.

Smile Maintenance Guide
Helpful note: This educational guide does not replace instructions from your dentist, orthodontist, or other treating dental professional. Always follow appliance-specific directions provided with your order.

Keep daily hygiene consistent

Brush your teeth thoroughly and clean between teeth every day using the approach recommended by your dental professional. Clean teeth before wearing a retainer or night guard whenever practical so plaque and food debris are not trapped beneath the appliance.

Keep the appliance clean too

Rinse and clean your appliance according to its care instructions. Store it in a clean protective case and keep it away from high heat.

Pay attention to fit

A retainer or guard should not be forced into place. If the fit changes, the appliance cracks, or you develop persistent discomfort, contact your provider for an evaluation.

Maintain regular dental visits

Routine dental care allows your dentist to monitor tooth and gum health, bite changes, and appliance condition. Bring your appliance to appointments if your provider asks to inspect it.

Protect your results with everyday habits

Follow your prescribed wear schedule, keep your case accessible, avoid chewing on the appliance, and replace it when your provider recommends. Consistency is often more important than complicated care routines.
